I asked : "Do you think you will ever have children?"
57% said yes, I will make an excellent parent
21% said no, I never want kids
22% said I have never thought about it
What is interesting about this is, the people who actually want children may have a hard time conceiving; the people who said they never want children will probably end up with at least one and the people who have never thought about it are the people who are most likely to get pregnant by accident.
I was on birth control when I got pregnant so my daughter was a total fluke, the odds of me getting pregnant were 1% and somehow I ended up pregnant. I knew I wanted to have kids someday but I just didn't want kids at such a young age, I guess she really was meant to be. When my daughter turned 6 months old, I started trying to get pregnant with my second because I always knew that I wanted my children close in age (my child's father and his brother are 10 years apart...) anyways, I have a history of miscarriages, since I started trying I have had 3 and before I got pregnant with my daughter I had 2. I tried for a second child for just under 2 years before giving up. I still want more kids but the more time that passes, the more I'm sure it will never happen. My daughter is a blessing from God and I'm so thankful for her. In the 2 years I spent trying I met a lot of women who were trying as well, I never knew there were so many people that had trouble getting pregnant and I never thought I would be one of them, I got pregnant on birth control, I was sure I didn't have any problems but I do and I wish life was different sometimes but overall I'm happy with the way things turned out and I can now say I'm a firm believer in 'everything happens for a reason'.
Also, new poll to the left!
I already am an excellent parent :)
ReplyDeleteYay for kids!
ReplyDeleteyeah if I have kids I want them to be a close age so they can relate to eachother.
ReplyDeleteI want to have kids one day. Maybe just one. Son or Daughter, doesn't really matter.
ReplyDeleteYou really think your daughter was meant to be? lol. Just because something is highly unlikely happens to you doesn't mean it was destiny. For example, if I enter the lottery, it's highly unlikely I will win. However, the chances that SOMEONE will win is very likely. The 1 person who wins isn't destined to win, they are proof that low odds can absolutely be beaten.
and with the miscarriages you've had, I'd think you'd either be upset with God or not believe in such a deity that would kill your unborn children.
I'd say dont't want kides ... for now
ReplyDeleteIt truly is one of those one-in-a-million things that you had your daughter like that. :o
ReplyDeleteAs for the older poll, I chose I don't want kids for a few reasons. I personally don't think I would be a good parent, so I rather not screw up another kid in the world... And also just rather not have to deal with it (thus supporting my bad parenting idea, heh). If I did end up having one either by accident or happenstance, I would do my best and not give up on it or anything. But to the best of my control, i rather not have kids.
I'd make an excellent parent
ReplyDeleteI chose I would love to have kids, however I dont belive it is in the cards for me and Im okay with that.
ReplyDeleteI dont want kids, but is the odds are against me, i guess i should just chop it off. HA! take that statistics!
