Sorry for the delayed post guys, still feeling down in the dumps today :( anyways, I'm back up to 603 swagbucks so that means I can cash out another $5 Amazon Giftcard!! I may be sick but that sure made my day :) I think I like swagbucks more than this blogging thing at the moment,

Also wanted to say I have a lot of inactive bloggers on my dashboard thingy so please comment on here ( IF YOU ARE ACTIVE- I know the dashboard auto updates new posts but I go through my complete list daily and it takes so long) so I can know who to delete etc. I'm going to be finding new people to follow/followers and I already have a bunch of slacky blogs to pick through, just trying to make things easier on my end! Thanks guys! Hopefully I'm feeling better tomorrow and I can make a few really interesting posts for you guys!

News

Bad Parenting or Life Lesson? You Decide.

*** Edit: New vid is working, if it stops, theres some stills HERE.
You just watched a cellphone video of 2 teen-aged girls fighting (LOL at the girl with her hands up like shes in a boxing ring) Okay but in all seriousness, apparently one of the girls moms was in the sidelines cheering for her daughter (um what lol...) and she ended up getting arrested for child abuse. What do you guys think? Would you encourage your child to fight (if it was a good enough reason)? I was a teenage girl once, I got into my share of fights, sometimes it's just unavoidable (obviously in the video it was planned), girls are b*tches though and I have definitely gotten to the point where I needed to kick some a*s (In self defense of course) I think it's necessary for girls to stand their ground and not let bullies push them around, but fighting for no reason is out of the question.
We aren't sure why these two girls are even fighting so it's hard to say I guess but I can tell you a personal story. My sister told me this after I got into a fight in high school. Apparently when she was in high school (shes a good 15 years older than me) some girl was bullying her and my dad finally said enough is enough, you can't let people treat you like that. So he took my sister and dropped her off at a local hangout where apparently the bully was and he told my sister to kick the sh*t out of her. I guess that's how it was done back then? My dad never got arrested for child abuse (my sister won the fight too) and it wasn't all over the news like this is, just sayin'.... I would love some feedback on this one though :)

Here is the blurb from the site I read this on:

"A Florida mother who stood on the sidelines cheering on her daughter during a planned high school fight between the teen and another girl was arrested today for child abuse.

According to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office affidavit, April Newcomb, 39, can be seen on multiple YouTube videos “encouraging” her daughter “to physically fight” with the other girl. The videos, one of which can be viewed below, were filmed by attendees of the fight, which occurred in a vacant field near Palmetto High School."

Now I don't think I would 'cheer on' my child but I sure as hell wouldn't want them to back down.

This Weeks Poll

Mom Vs. Mom- Who did it better?

I asked: Who played the better mom?
Diane Keaton in The Other Sister or Susan Sarandon in Stepmom.

20% said Diane Keaton
80% said Susan Sarandon

Personally, I enjoy Diane Keatons acting and I thought The Other Sister was a really great movie, it was different and enjoyable. Although I can see why the majority voted Stepmom because it was a way more popular movie.

More Movies!
Diane Keaton Favorites...

Susan Sarandon Flicks I enjoy....
Anywhere but Here, Lorenzos Oil, Thelma and Louise, The Rocky Horror Picture Show (im not kidding lol), The Witches of Eastwick, The Hunger, Cats and Dogs, Shall We Dance

Check out the movie info in the titles :) new poll soon!

Also, thanks to all my faithful fellow bloggers who check on me everyday! Im glad you all enjoy my blog! Money Mamas

Thought I would do a post on ways to make money online. I have been making money online since last year and even though it's not thousands of dollars, $10 here and there can really be a huge help when it comes to those little extras.

Online surveys are a good and easy way to make a few bucks online if you are patient enough to wait until you accumulate enough cash/ points to cashout.
I am signed up to numerous online survey companies, I find the more different accounts I have (for different sites of course) than the more money I will make all together. The best ones I have joined up to are:
Ipsos I-Say: This one is pretty legit and you can accumulate points pretty fast. Save up your points and trade 'em in for giftcards, cash or entries into contests.
GlobalTestMarket: Legit. I get surveys from this like 5-10 times a month maybe more. Another points based system.
Angus Reid Forum: You get paid money or contest entries for the surveys, minimum cashout $50.
Zoompanel: Another points system. This one sends quite a few surveys once you get into it.

Search bars can be a good asset. Why not get paid for doing something you do anyways?
Swagbucks. This is the newest one I have joined but I think it's the one I like the best. It's been 2 days and I already have 158 points just from doing a few free offers and using the toolbar. 450 points will get you $5 Amazon giftcard. Signup below to get some free points to start.

Mypoints. Same thing as Swagbucks. I have been at it longer so I have more points but you also need more points to cash it in to get something (1500 is the least amount you need)

Top 5 Time

My favorite TV shows for young children (pre-schoolers)

Now that my daughter is getting older she is getting much more interested in television. I used to just leave it on for background noise during the day but now I find more and more that she will actually be paying attention to the TV and she has learned quite a few things, so I'm happy! With that being said I definitely do not agree with children who sit in front of the TV all day especially at her age but sometimes 30 minutes of education can be a good thing plus it's always nice for mom to get a quick break during the day, I use this time to shower sometimes if I can't get one the night before (while she is safe in her playpen of course).

1. Dora the Explorer. This is pretty much a given, Dora taught my girl to count to 10 in Spanish (she just turned 2), her colours, shapes, sizes. Dora has been a great asset, and it gets a thumbs up from me on the educational scale.

2. Super why. This show is about four kids in Fairytale land who help solve problems by going by lessons taught in books (fairytale morals). This show is teaching my daughter how to spell and read. I was amazed when she started reading the words on the screen!

3. Ni hao, Ki-Lan. It's about a Chinese kid and her friends. It teaches Chinese, friendship skills and problem solving.

4. Yo Gabba Gabba. Biz Marky....'nuff said. LOL just playin', but for real though. I love this show and I'm a grown up. This show taught my kid how to beat-box, how to interact with other kids, hygiene, manners and there is usually really cool celebrity guests.

5. Franklin. For obvious reasons. I used to read the books as a kid and now me and my daughter watch this one together, its great bonding time. Franklin teaches problem solving and friendship skills.

What kind of shows did you watch when you were young? I can remember watching The Care Bears when I was young and I was always jealous of the kids that got help from them LOL

Fail Mom

When I saw this news article, I raged. Dont feel like copy and pasting it so I will just do a little OC blurb, link and video....

This is a picture of 21 year old Jessica Gamble. She is currently facing charges for what happens in this video.

Yes, that is right.
You just watched a cell phone video of a 2 year old smoking marijuana. Now, personally I do not have a problem with people smoking weed, what you do is your own business and ultimately I am for the legalization of it BUT when it comes to the welfare of a child, I am outraged. Knowing the effects of marijuana on a person (not physically but mentally, ie getting high) I have to say I cant even understand why someone would teach their child how to smoke marijuana, I dont even know, I think this article may have me madder than the 2 year old baby who chain smoked
Seriously though, I can not stand people who wont be parents, a parent would never let their child smoke anything at all, ever, and this is a prime example of someone who should have chose adoption over keeping their child. Not mature enough to handle parenting then GTFO.
What do you guys think....

Skin Care 2.0

Here are a few more tips to help you fix those annoying skin and beauty problems without having to spend mega bucks at your local pharmacy!

Soft Hands
1 tbsp Honey
1 tsp sugar
Massage into hands for a few minutes (it exfoliates the dead skin cells) then rinse clean and apply a light lotion.

Soft feet
Soak feet in warm water with a few drops of lemon juice, pat dry, apply vaseline, put on socks and go to bed. Wash well in the morning and moisturize. This also works well with hands (use gloves) and legs (cotton sweats are fine, leg warmers work well too)

White teeth
1 tsp baking soda
2-4 drops lemon juice
Brush teeth with toothpaste, rinse then brush again with baking soda mixture (tastes nasty but does the trick!) then rinse clean.

Dandruff fix
Baby Oil
Fine tooth Comb
Part hair, rub baby oil into scalp, brush scalp with fine tooth comb, wash scalp thoroughly with a grease removing shampoo (baby shampoo works fine but so does lemon dish washing liquid-the grease cutting kind) then apply conditioner from roots up (pro tip: adding conditioner to roots will cause your hair to look greasier faster, also causes build up and dandruff so try to avoid massaging conditioner into scalp)

Mayonnaise
Can be used as...
Hair conditioner (coat hair, leave on for 15-20 mins, wash out and your hair will be soft and manageable)
Soften skin (apply to dry/affected area for 10 mins and wipe clean)
Manicure (rub into cuticles, let sit for 10 mins and wash off)
Sunburn relief (apply cold mayo to affected area and let sit for as long as you need before washing away)

Hey guys!
What do you guys think about Coca Cola? Yay or Nay?
Personally, I used to be absolutely addicted to it, I drank at least 2 litres of it daily. Now, I'm older, wiser and much more smarter about what I put into my body. Occasionally I will crave it and buy a can here or there but usually I won't touch the stuff. I found a website that has a bunch of cool ways to use Coca Cola (besides drinking it) you can check it out HERE.

A little info for you, these are the countries that do not market Coca Cola.

There was only 9 bottles of Coca Cola sold in the first year of business.
Today, there are 1.6 billion servings of Coca Cola sold each day.
The more you know :)

Random/Funny

Hey guys! Just a quick post to say I updated my blog a little, move things for obvious reasons etc. and even got a new background! :) hope you enjoy!
Now, have some funny pics/ pics of people being absolutely stupid!

I fear for the upcoming generation LOL

This Weeks Poll

I asked : "Do you think you will ever have children?"

57% said yes, I will make an excellent parent
21% said no, I never want kids
22% said I have never thought about it

What is interesting about this is, the people who actually want children may have a hard time conceiving; the people who said they never want children will probably end up with at least one and the people who have never thought about it are the people who are most likely to get pregnant by accident.
I was on birth control when I got pregnant so my daughter was a total fluke, the odds of me getting pregnant were 1% and somehow I ended up pregnant. I knew I wanted to have kids someday but I just didn't want kids at such a young age, I guess she really was meant to be. When my daughter turned 6 months old, I started trying to get pregnant with my second because I always knew that I wanted my children close in age (my child's father and his brother are 10 years apart...) anyways, I have a history of miscarriages, since I started trying I have had 3 and before I got pregnant with my daughter I had 2. I tried for a second child for just under 2 years before giving up. I still want more kids but the more time that passes, the more I'm sure it will never happen. My daughter is a blessing from God and I'm so thankful for her. In the 2 years I spent trying I met a lot of women who were trying as well, I never knew there were so many people that had trouble getting pregnant and I never thought I would be one of them, I got pregnant on birth control, I was sure I didn't have any problems but I do and I wish life was different sometimes but overall I'm happy with the way things turned out and I can now say I'm a firm believer in 'everything happens for a reason'.

If I would have answered this question a few years ago, I probably would have said "I have never thought about it" because at that point I never really did. What about you, what did you choose and why?

Also, new poll to the left!

My Favorite TV Moms

You ever watch a TV show and go 'Man, I wish she was my mom!' I do. Here is a list of all the moms I enjoy watching on television!

1. Lois Griffin. She's young, cool, funny and most of all, animated.

LOL at this video everytime. I know what that's like, kid wears you out, need a break from said kid, no break allowed :(

2. Kitty Forman. She is definatly my favorite, retro mom FTW!

3. Roseanne. Oh the sarcasm LOL

4. Clair Huxtable. She's rich and sophisticated (but not snobby), and an all 'round great mom.

5. Lorelai Gilmore. For a single mom, she does an awesome job. Her kid is a straight A student who does nothing but study and be good, how does she do it!?! This one is a music video but I like it.

Meals on a Budget

Do you ever get bored with cooking and not know what to make? Well I do a lot, so I started coming up with little things I could do to change certain meals etc. It's so hard to cook for a toddler, she never wants to eat anything and it's always a constant battle but once I figured out these cheap, easy ways to come up with new meal ideas, it really helped a lot.

Cooking with noodles- 8 meals under $10*
Noodles are incredibly affordable and easy to come by, here are a few things you can do to spice up your noodles. For health benefits, use whole wheat pasta, any type of pasta will do for any of these recipes as well, unless specified.  Most of these recipes can be made as entrees or side dishes. One meal is about 4 servings.

Ghetto Pasta
2 cups of noodles (any kind)
1 can of Campbells soup (tomato or mushroom work best)
1 tsp butter
salt to taste

Cook pasta, drain, add butter and mix until noodles are coated then add can of soup and serve.

Cheesy Pasta
2 cups of noodles
2-3 tbsp Parmesan cheese
1 tsp butter
pinch of pepper

Cook noodles, drain, add butter and coat noodles, add the cheese, stir and serve.

Veggie Pasta
2 cups of noodles
1/2 cup chopped peppers
1/2 cup chopped celery
1 can of chopped tomatoes
optional: salad dressing of your choice
pinch of pepper

Cook noodles, drain and cool, add chopped veggies (raw), stir and drizzle with sauce of choice, then serve. Best served cold.

Veggie Pasta 2
2 cups of noodles
1 can of chopped tomatoes
1 cup of chopped cheese (cheddar works best)
balsamic vinegar
pinch of pepper

Cook noodles, drain, add tomatoes, stir then top with cheese and drizzle some balsamic vinegar and serve. Best served cold.

Home made Mac & Cheese
2 cups of noodles
3-4 slices of cheese or 4-5 tbsp cheese whiz
1 tsp butter
1 tsp Parmesan cheese
1 tsp milk

Cook noodles, drain and coat with butter, add cheese and stir until smooth, add milk, stir in well, top with Parmesan cheese and serve.

*recipes using ground beef may be a little more expensive ($15-18) but your taste buds will thank you :)

Goulash
2 cups of noodles
1 can of crushed tomatoes
1/2 lb ground beef
pinch of pepper

Cook ground beef and set aside. Cook noodles, drain. Add cooked ground beef and can of tomatoes, stir well, add pepper to taste and serve.

Spaghetti
2 cups of noodles (Spaghetti noodles work best)
1 can of spaghetti sauce (I use Hunts)
1 lb ground beef
optional: pre-mixed spaghetti veggies

Cook beef until browned. Add can of sauce and 1 cup of cooked spaghetti mix veggies, simmer on low. Meanwhile, cook noodles, drain and serve the sauce over the noodles.

Swedish meatballs
2 cups of noodles (egg noodles work best)
1 cup chopped peppers
1 cup chopped mushrooms
15-20 meatballs (cheaper if they are home made)
2 cans gravy (you can make your own if you wish)
pinch of pepper

Cook meatballs. Put in oven ware (I use a silver aluminum pan about 10" by 5" with some depth) cover in gravy, add the vegetables and put in the oven for 20-30 minutes at 375C or until veggies are soft. Cook and drain noodles. Serve the meatballs and sauce over the noodles.

Hope you enjoy! Thanks for reading!

5 Problem Children

Children I would not want to be the parent of....based on movies that I saw and liked of course! The movie links are in the name titles.
No order as always!

Mikey, this movie gave me nightmares as a child, him and his little 'accidents'

Damien, he killed his own mother, 'nough said

Joshua, this kid is just your basic jealous older brother, or not....

Ester, the 33 year old foreign chick with an aging disease...i would be okay to never adopt after seeing this movie.

& for the lulz, Junior....man, this kid was crazy, the second movie was the best though because it had Trixie and she was cool, I'd chose her over him any day
