Picky Eaters

As a child, I used to eat any and everything. I grew up trying new and different things all the time, I consider myself to have a very wide range or tastes, I thoroughly enjoy food. My daughter on the other hand, will not eat anything. And when I say anything I mean, all she wants to eat is toast and cookies. She was breastfed for 6 months and her pediatrician tells me that she should like food more but no matter what I try she will throw a tantrum if she thinks something is yucky and there fore I have wasted food.
What about you guys, have you always enjoyed foods? Can you remember being a picky eater, what do you think should be done to ensure the children are getting enough to eat?

I try to jazz up her plates of food as much as possible, making funny shapes and different colors, it works until she tastes it LOL I am hoping this is just a phase and she continues on to be a good eater like myself.

ps. Adsense disabled my account :( need a new ad network that is just as good or even better!

  4. I was an extremely picky eater when I was younger. They'd always try to get me to eat my vegetables but I hated them so much! They could only get me to eat carrots and corn. I also hated steak cause it was so chewy, but I'd not put up as big a fight for that. But because of how picky i was, I'd always end up not being allowed to move from the dinner table until I ate it, which led to me being at the table by myself being bored and refusing to eat.

I actually got in a lot of trouble by hiding the food behind the microwave, and they found out one day. Dad was tempted to make me eat the old food behind there (not like that would have happened if they tried).

I'm still a bit of a picky eater today, but I am open to more food now. I also make an effort to always try something unless it's a new meat; i refuse to eat deer or rabbit or something.
